Uzbekistan strives for leadership in international electronics
At an event entitled “Uzbekistan as a New Center for International Business: Opportunities for Foreign Companies,” former Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union Hamadoun Toure noted Uzbekistan’s great achievements in the field of information and communication technologies.
Ture emphasized that Uzbekistan has made significant progress in developing e-government in recent years. In particular, in the UN E-Government Development Ranking, Uzbekistan rose 24 positions, taking 63rd place out of 193 countries, and entered the TOP-10 countries with the greatest growth. According to the International Telecommunication Union, Uzbekistan took high places in world rankings for low prices and internet security. The country also achieved high scores in the “Safety Perception Index 2023”.
“Uzbekistan is actively introducing advanced technologies such as 5.5G and is becoming a leader in the region.
Work to connect all citizens to the Internet through the development of fiber optic networks in rural areas also serves to enhance the country’s prestige.”
Hamadoun Toure noted that the leadership qualities and strategic views of the head of Uzbekistan became an important factor in the country’s achievement of such success.
